About the Author

Jane D. McLeod is Associate Dean for Social and Historical Sciences and Graduate Education and Professor of Sociology, at Indiana University. Her research considers health as both cause and consequence of inequality with special attention to life course considerations. She has co-edited two other volumes for Springer: Mental Health, Social Mirror (with William R. Avison and Bernice A. Pescosolido) and the Handbook of the Sociology of Health, Illness and Healing (with Bernice A. Pescosolido, Jack K. Martin, and Anne Rogers). She also co-edited The Sociology of Mental Illness: A Comprehensive Reader (with Eric R. Wright) for Oxford University Press. In 2014, she received the Leonard I. Pearlin Award for Distinguished Contributions to the Sociological Study of Mental Health from the Mental Health section of the American Sociological Association.Michael Schwalbe received his Ph.D. in sociology in 1984 from Washington State University. His research and writing have focused on how self-concept formation and identity work are implicated in the reproduction of inequality. His books include Unlocking the Iron Cage: The Men’s Movement, Gender Politics and American Culture; The Sociologically Examined Life; Remembering Reet and Shine: Two Black Men, One Struggle; Rigging the Game: How Inequality Is Reproduced in Everyday Life; and, most recently, Manhood Acts: Gender and the Practices of Domination. He is currently professor of sociology at North Carolina State University.Edward J. Lawler is the Martin P. Catherwood Professor of Industrial and Labor Relations and Professor of Sociology at Cornell University. His teaching and research areas are group processes, exchange, power, negotiation and the sociology of emotion. He has co-authored three books and edited or co-edited the annual series, Advances in Group Processes. In 2001, he received the Cooley-Mead Award for career achievement from the Social Psychology Section of the American Sociological Association and in 2003 his paper, “An Affect Theory of Social Exchange” won the 2002 Theory Prize from the Theory Section of the American Sociological Association. His most recent book (coauthored with Shane Thye and Jeongkoo Yoon), Social Commitments in a Depersonalized World (2009), won the 2010 James Coleman Best Book Award from the Rationality and Society Section of the American Sociological Association. Started out okay but devolved into a boring story with an agenda. The principal protagonist makes some ridiculous statements as the three books progress. Towards the end of the third book the author makes an effort put forth an anti gun sentiment. After our hero shoots an enemy soldier from a good distance, the author writes that he puts the "Hated" rifle between the seats. A rifle or handgun is nothing more than a tool to be used as the owner intends. No reason to hate something that has saved his worthless life many times. I noted that the author is from England which explains why he doesn't like firearms. He should place his stories in England not the USA where over 300 million firearms exist.

I read each of the Willow Falls novels with Kindle Unlimited when they first came out last year, but I couldn't resist picking up a copy of the box set for my permanent collection as soon as I saw it.This is what great post apocalyptic fiction should be. It's about regular folks surviving disaster, not impossibly tough, implausibly skilled ex-military types who can strip an assault rifle in ten seconds flat and seem to have been preparing for the apocalypse since kindergarten. Shep's father may have been a hardcore prepper, but the apple fell far from the tree and Shep himself is caught with his pants down almost as much as everyone else.What makes Willow Falls so real is that when the time comes to save himself, just like his daddy taught him, Shep realizes that he never prepared himself emotionally for leaving behind everyone he cares about. That's what gets him into such trouble, and it's what makes this such a compelling page turner.Five stars.

Well developed characters and he’s great at developing the scene. Just enough action to keep me at the edge of my seat but without the usual shoot out running from scene to scene found in other books. I’ve read six of his books non stop and on on to my last set. Write more, write faster!

The hero, Shep, has a perfect retreat but instead has chosen to help others. I’m not sure what the author was saying about the enemy POW but I thought a bullet was the answer. Some complicated situations arise but all ends well.

Finally I get a book written more the war I have it figured that the U.S. Will go down. Very few stable minds will be found. But there will be a lot of horror to go around.

4 stars because in my humble opinion it ended too soon. They had just reached the safe zone and left the people from their hometown high and dry. They did not even bother to lobby for their help.Not my heroes.

I drank down America Strong in one big, all-night gulp. What a terror. The characters are realistically drawn, normal people caught up in terrifying circumstances that seem all to real. I enjoyed the whole set, but the first book sticks with me, and I was not disappointed reading all the way to the end. Taylor is someone I will watch for more Post-Apocalyptic fiction.

The William Fall Series is an excellent read. Keith Taylor captured the readers attention and kept it throughout the entire series. No slow parts in the series.

One ought NOT to be fooled by any reviews or hearsay on this book for it supposedly "[lumping] Larry Burkette, James Dobson, and D. James Kennedy into the same group as Chuck [Missler]. . ." Any future claims of misusing "sensationalist," etc., can be prevented by saying that one can accurately categorize someone such as a Missler into sensationalism.Another further criticism that may have to do with Hank's credentials to deal with the subject. Millenium Bug Debugged not only is based upon reliable, thorough, and consistent research, but he, from his background as a strong researcher and discerner, is wise enough to turn to other excellent research aids and ACTUAL experts in the area such as Steve Hewitt and others. . .

Alright, I admit that through the Y2K days Hank has become a friend of mine and some of my corresdpondence with him is quoted in the book.Probably no one is reading this book now or the reviews three years after Y2K, but in retrospect we should all consider how so many of us were sold terrifying angles by people who had their own axes to grind. People were so up in arms with their opinions, that those of us publishing less than alarmist views received everything from insults to death threats for interfering with the public reaching what others thought was the appropriate level of panic (including setting aside food, guns, etc.)I'd like to think it couldn't happen again. I'd like to.

It's easy in retrospect to see the clear evidence of Hank's latest endeavor to wake the Christian community up. The Millennium Bug Debugged is a well researched book concerning Y2K reports that exposes other books (like the Millennium Bug) hidden agenda to make money preying on peoples fear.It would be almost comical to read back on positive reviews and comments from "experienced" programmers and computer experts for other books (like the Millennium Bug)if lives weren't devastated by it's ramifications.Good job Hank! You're one author who isn't walking around with egg on your face. Time has revealed that.

Exactly what I was looking for. Chapters are thorough, well organized and presented.

This is a pretty basic book; all of which can probably be found on Google, if you haven't already searched the subject. I got nothing out of it, and I doubt you will either.

I thought this book was exceptional in that it was more of a practical guide for producing documentaries, than a philosophical one. It answered many questions and gave the type of advice that was useful, especially for those who are upping their production a notch.

Breaks down the process very clearly. Good index.

I have been a massive fan of this book ever since I was given it as a present, and have read it cover to cover on several occasions. It is incredibly detailed and informative; and covers every aspect of documentary making. It is a must have for any filmmakers, at whatever level. The author is brilliant and knows his stuff! I would recommend to all.

I really loved this book! Unlike most filmmaking books, Lindenmuth was not stingy in sharing information! From the detailed lessons to the get your feet wet/hands-on assignments...you will ACTUALLY LEARN the documentary filmmaking process. No BS, useless fillers or cookie cut templates, this book gets straight to the point!!!!!
