Joan Kaderavek, Ph.D. is a Distinguished University Professor in the department of Early Childhood Education at the University of Toledo. Dr. Kaderavek is a certified speech-language pathologist with extensive clinical and classroom experience. Her work has centered on investigating the early reading skills and language concepts that impact children’s later reading ability and how classroom discourse impacts children’s academic performance.   Her appointment as a Distinguished University Professor represents special recognition based on exemplary teaching, research, scholarship and professional service. Dr. Kaderavek is a Fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and has been a Fulbright Scholar.    Dr. Joan Kaderavek is a frequent presenter and author in the area of language development, early literacy, and teacher-child interactions. She has over 60 peer-reviewed articles in leading journals. Her work has been published in Journal of Speech-Language Hearing Research, Language, Speech, and Hearing Services in Schools, Topics in Early Childhood Special Education, and Early Childhood Research Quarterly. Dr. Kaderavek has been a co-investigator in multi-million dollar grant projects funded by the U.S. Department of Education and the National Science Foundation. Her research has investigated the effects of a teacher-provided book reading intervention on children’s literacy development; current research focuses on teacher-child and child-child discourse in early childhood classrooms during science inquiry lessons.   Dr. Kaderavek is involved nationally and internationally in professional service. This book is simply the best book ever written on this specific subject. The author has done his homework to come up with this masterpiece. One can learn easily how Ethiopia's case could have saved the world from the atrocities of the World War II just by the simple task of honoring the principles of the ill fated League of Nations. HaileSillasie's speech at the League was indeed a prophetic one "Today its us, tomorrow its you". Thank God for creating Karma.

During the long road to war, this was one of the many flashpoints on the way that set the scene for WW2 and eventually was absorbed into the wider conflict. Pearce not only tells us about how the fight went down but also the set up to the war. Of what Ethiopia was like before the war, the skill of Halie Selassie before the war as a diplomat and head of state and the details of the war itself, and what was going on in Italy at this time. Then there was the liberation of the country and what happened afterwards, including Selassie's downfall, all in rich detail.What I felt was lacking was the way the book was written, sometimes for a lack of a better word it felt "unprofessional" , perhaps it was to also attract those who are not as big of a history buff as I am!

I've learned so much about Ethiopia and Italy during the period of 1935-1941. I believe this book offers a major contribution to world history. If you want to read a book that states facts and uses references to back up its claims, this book is the one for you.

Wonderfully structured idea book for CCD and Youth Outreach ministers. Activities are fun and informative and easily adapted to meet group need. Activities are based on sound catechetical practices. I am a Bishop and enjoyed this easy read and have referred to it several times for ideas to motivate and educate young Christians.

This is first book I found which has activities for children older than 2nd or 3rd grade, and which are geared to toward getting the children to think more actively about the tenets of the Faith. Each exercise requires the students to think about the topic more than the word searches or crossword puzzles I found in most other books. Ellen Rossins' book is great for getting to the substance of our Faith and I hope she writes more!

This is really just a book of worksheets. No actual activities. Any catechism textbook already has plenty of worksheets. I was hoping for more interactive activities to re-inforce learning-games, crafts, etc

I and II' for the story of his travels in Central America. It's 750 pages published in two volumes in 1841. He tells of their travels including confrontations with robbers, brigands and scoundrels. Told in the first person you often wonder, 'How will he ever get out of this fix?'

Great read & well written!

I purchased this item because I wanted a copy of my own. The publication did not disappoint although I would have preferred the inclusion of illustrations.

This book is a wealth of information on stamp dealing. I would recommend it to anyone looking to get into the business. It gives step by step info, pros and cons to the various places and ways to sell stamps including marketing and promotions. The only thing that it lacks is online stamp dealing advice. That was one of the areas that I was interested in. Perhaps this is an idea for another dealer/author.

I really enjoyed this book. It covers nearly all aspects of stamp dealing: owning a shop, doing mail sales, auctions, and bourses - although the omission of Internet trading is a minus. The foreword by the legendary Herman 'Pat' Herst is effusive but accurate. Mosiondz is a US dealer with a very sober, down-to-earth approach. He makes it abundantly clear that if you intend to make a living in stamps, you should realize that it requires attention to the same business basics as any other field - and he goes into a lot of detail. His bottom line: success will surely come, but only to the dedicated, disciplined professional. Much of the wisdom in this book is valid around the world and would apply equally to trading in many different collectibles. As someone who has dabbled in stamp dealing, I would recommend this book to anyone. It's good know-how at a bargain price.

Good for a sell starter, but old enough not to include ebay.

This book was disapointing as it covers nothing new and fails to cover aspects of stamp dealing on the internet. Since a lot of stamp auctions are now done through the internet, perhaps this is a book more suitable for those who are primarily focussed on local American markets. Definitely not recommended for international buyers.

I bought this address book for a family member who is moving out of the area. I brought it to the going away party and had everyone put there information in it. This way they have what they need. The issue I have with this book, is that it does not have any A,B,Cs in it. It's just page after page. I ended up buying Post Its with the alphabet and adding them in. Other then that, I really liked it. It has large area to write in, which really helps since we are getting older!! And yes, I would buy it for myself. In fact, I think I just may!

This is not exactly what I thought I was getting. The artwork is a bit blurry. It is not alphabetized. And it seems more like the quality of a coloring book and not an address book. I am a bit disappointed. It will serve my purposes, but it was not what I was expecting.

This is something I could have printed off my computer. Very low quality and very disappointed.

The print and pages are large for my elderly mother-in-law. I only wish that it had alpha tabs in it. It kind of makes it difficult if you have to put all the names in one after the other.

I couldn't believe the difficulty I had finding an address book! However, I was glad I couldn't find any in the stores because I love this one! Regular address book but lovely cover and nice and roomy!

I like the fact that it's large enough for me to clearly write out each address, clearly. Not squeeze in an address. Plus, I LOVE sunflowers! That's what's drew my attention to the address book in the first place!

This is a pretty book, but not well made. As soon as i opened it, some pages fell out because the binding is so bad. I could not return it as I was giving it as a 95th birthday present to a lady, and had no way to get her another one as she lives out of state.Not happy, but I gave it to her, anyway.

Colorful and fun. love the extra space. The only reason I didn't go 5 stars is because of the paperback. May not hold up well
