I read more mysteries than romances, so this was an exception. I did like it. The setting is Mexico in a start-up medical facility. The young doctor was expecting a mature widow to answer his call for a nurse. The young widow was expecting a doctor who had retired from a practice to take on pro-bono work. Naturally, the fireworks started, with misunderstandings and whatnot to keep them at arms' length. Since the secrets they kept from each other were partially kept from the reader, I was in for enough mystery to satisfy that streak!
Scenes after earthquake seemed very realistic. Admiration for disaster workers everywhere. It makes you want to help support disaster workers everywhere.
Enjoyed this little book. It was a very different read and was very surprised that she stayed to be his partner in all ways. The only down side is that the nurse always seemed more in charge than the doctor. Also seemed to show off her medical knowledge while he seemed more of a secondary, at times, invisible party.
I enjoyed this book a lot even tho I the story line was predictable. Its a fast and easy read.
This is such an inspiring story. Indeed, there are still such people who are giving of themselves for,other people. And this part of the story is what I love about this novel. You get to have so much compassion and feel for others. And along come a few tears. And what a happy ending knowing that these two characters will continue to be a blessing to their community.
I enjoyed reading this novel--actually read it in three sittings-Characters were defined wellPlot was good and well developed and held my attentionConclusion was well done as far as tying characters and events upI like reading medically related books
The price was right and I thought 'why not.' I didn't realize this is just a good old-fashioned romance novel in a tropical setting; the boats on the cover threw me... no man and woman in steamy embrace. But I read on, and it was kind of fun.
Light reading delight. Although it is rather predictable it was a delightful story. Though the characters were somewhat embellished, I have known real life counterparts. Good read.
